Throughout initial design, detailed drawing and product documentation stages, CADELEC provides up-to-the minute tools covering all aspects of electro-mechanical system development. Click here to view a small example project made with CADELEC CADELEC packs a full range of custom drafting functions specifically tailored for electrical system designers, and includes full checking and listing features to minimize the risk of error throughout the design process. For optimum productivity and project coherence, CADELEC can be networked into a design work group, allowing different designers to share the same libraries and catalogues throughout the project. Newcomers to CAD find CADELEC easy to learn, thanks to a standard Windows interface with drop-down menus and toolbars. Context sensitive help is only a mouse click away. Using CADELEC, even inexperienced users can create drawings in record time, by accessing libraries that contain over 300 pre-drawn symbols, to DIN, IEC, NEN, BS, ANSI-IEEE, JIC and CSA standards. These standard libraries can be customized to meet special needs, and you can create new libraries and symbols as required. CADELEC offers two fully-interchangeable methods for preparing schematics: either you can draw the schematics first and compute the bill of material later; or you define the bill of material first, and pick components to insert in the drawing later. This kind of flexibility means developers can calculate exact project costs before starting construction work. A sophisticated navigator function eliminates the need for time-consuming manual searches between contacts, parts and terminals. Just click on a relay contact, and CADELEC will automatically go to the drawing that contains the coil (or vice versa). This also works between terminals and pinout drawings, and between cabinet layouts and schematics. CADELEC also integrates PLC support features, with automatic functions for numbering, describing and marking input/outputs. The package will even import and export PLC command reports. Networking CADELEC supports networking into a multi-user design group, allowing
different designers to work in the same project at the same time and to
share libraries and catalogues. CADELEC offers full checking and reporting functions, for step-by-step project analysis and documentation. Regardless of the number of designers, it will check all cross references throughout the project and detail all errors encountered. It also cross-references all wires at the same potential. CADELEC's terminal-editor function automatically manages all the terminals and cables in a project, allowing you to change terminal blocks, set cable and wire specifications, and determine wire lengths. There are three alternatives for specifying cables terminal strips and external devices:
CADELEC supports a virtually unlimited number of manufacturer catalogues for each project. Entries for any device can be made in five different languages, and catalogues can be sorted by language or other criteria. The program even provides assistance for component selection, by matching electrical characteristics to symbols, then and generating parts, materials and order lists automatically. You can optimize project costing by merely changing the catalogue. At the click of a button, CADELEC lets you compare project costs across alternative procurement scenarios. Applying a built-in filter feature, you can print specific requirements lists to analyse specific cost factors (e.g. motor system only). CADELEC comes with 60 different kinds of lists, in nine language versions, and you can compile your own custom lists to meet company-specific or client-specific standards. You can also choose to output the result in Excel form or text form too. In addition to its advanced wiring design functions, CADELEC also facilitates
cabinet layout work, by computing space requirements
automatically to output basic criteria for cabinet selection. Then, you
can actually pick devices from a fitting list
and locate them in the cabinet layout drawing effortlessly; CADELEC will
automatically look up part dimension data from the relevant catalogue,
and draw in the outlines true to scale. When you pick an item from the
list, the outline appears in the cabinet layout and the part disappears
from the list, which means there's no risk of inserting the sale device
twice. CADELEC also detects inconsistencies between schematics and cabinet
layout drawings. For example, if you delete a component a schematic, CADELEC
will automatically flags the component outline in red in the relevant
cabinet layout drawing. If you project for countries with a different native language, the new automatic translator will translate your descriptive comments in the drawing into the language of your customer. This may mean closing a deal or not. CADELEC includes a user-expandable dictionary of technical terms for English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Polish and Hungarian. You can add more languages. Four modules for different user needs CADELEC adds the following specialized electrical engineering design functions to the comprehensive drafting features found in the basic AutoCAD system:
In addition, users can generate custom reports to company or client requirements,
and print filtered parts lists to user-defined criteria.
CADELEC is available in English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish,
Latin-American Spanish, Czech, Hungarian and Polish. For further information
